Spring Break is upon us, and for many students the first collegiate Spring Break experience is a rite of passage. UMD requires that all undergraduate students taking 6 or more credits have health insurance. Students are required to provide proof of health insurance by completing an on-line waiver once each academic year. Many students are covered on a family plan and do not need to purchase additional insurance from the university. Be sure your student completes the online waiver to prevent automatic enrollment in the University’s Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP).
