Terp Family Ambassadors
The Terp Family Ambassadors (TFA) is a group of dedicated family volunteers who serve as ambassadors for the University of Maryland among the parents and family members of undergraduate students. Ambassadors strive to foster student success and enhance the campus community by actively engaging the parents and families of undergraduate students in support of the university through events, programs, and initiatives.
Volunteer opportunities will be sent to the members of the TFA Community as they come available. Opportunities include but are not limited to:
- Attending virtual meetings with other volunteers to learn ways to support students, discussing issues concerning families, interacting with university administrators, and providing a collective voice on topics relevant to students and families.
- Serving as ambassadors by sharing your affinity with UMD in your community and working to engage other parents and families in supporting university efforts.
- Being knowledgeable about campus resources and sharing information with other Terp families; serving as a Terp Family Fundamentals webinar series panelist
- Evaluating applications as part of the Terp Family Scholarship Review Committee
- Serving as an Intern for a Day host, resume reviewer, or mock interviewer for the UMD Career Center.
